Retiree Miriam Sexton of Ft. Myers Wins Pit Pass to Watch Saturday's Nationwide Series Race from Pit Road with Kendrick Meek, the Meek Family, and Mike Wallace's J-D Motorsports #01 Chevrolet Team
Daytona Beach, Fla. - Kendrick Meek's U.S. Senate campaign announced today that Miriam Sexton from Ft. Myers won the online contest on www.KendrickMeek.com to join Kendrick Meek and family, driver Mike Wallace and his J-D Motorsports #01 Chevrolet Team to watch Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series race live from pit road.

Kendrick Meek's campaign will be the lead sponsor of Mike Wallace's #01 race car, which was unveiled today in Daytona Beach.  Wallace will drive the Kendrick Meek sponsored race car on Wednesday and Thursday before Saturday's race that airs live on ESPN.

"After spending days in Daytona Beach and Volusia County, local residents, small business owners, and Florida tourists are talking to me about the need to create new, good paying jobs in our state.  Race week here in this community helps, yet people are reading about signs of economic improvement around the county, but not feeling it here in Florida.  We need our economy to work for us because Floridians have suffered for too long and paid the consequences of other people's recklessness," said Kendrick Meek, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate.

"I am just thrilled to support Kendrick, and I will share with my neighbors and friends his vision to restore economic opportunity to my city of Ft. Myers. This state has headed in the wrong direction for too long, and a leader like Kendrick Meek can return us to the right direction. For me, this is a moment I will never forget - watching my first NASCAR race in person with Florida's next U.S. Senator, Kendrick Meek," said contest winner Miriam Sexton.

Ms. Sexton contributed $5 online to Kendrick Meek's campaign and is a retired clinical psychologist originally from Massachusetts.

The Kendrick Meek for Senate logo will appear on the hood, rear quarter panel and deck lid of the Mike Wallace #01 Nationwide Series car at Daytona Beach.  On the race car's rear panel, spectators of the race and viewers on television will see signage to text WIN to 35736 and join Kendrick Meek's mobile text message program.
Press looking to interview Kendrick Meek and Miriam Sexton are asked to call the Meek for Florida campaign press office at 1-877-FL-4-MEEK or 1-877-354-6335 to arrange interviews.
