GOVERNOR CRIST CAUGHT IN BIGGEST LIE YET

Governor Crist to Greta Van Susteren on Fox News Channel on October 28 at approximately 8:30 p.m. during pre-taped interview: "There were several people that I spoke with [at the White House]." See video here.

Governor Crist Spokesman to Politico on October 28 at approximately 11:30 p.m.: "The governor never asked anyone in the White House to help get Congressman Meek out of the race, and the White House never offered to help."

Miami Gardens, FL - In the midst of one of the most bizarre and just plain weird meltdowns in recent political history, Governor Charlie Crist was caught lying about his efforts to contact the White House regarding Kendrick Meek.

"Governor Crist says he is running for common sense Floridians, but common sense dictates that Governor Crist is not well," said Kendrick Meek spokesman Adam Sharon. "It's just not normal behavior to call your opponent before 5 a.m. to talk politics, nor is it healthy to stalk your opponent at a public event, corner him when he gets off stage, then give him a cross that belongs to your sister - all at an AIPAC event attended by leaders of the Jewish community."

On Fox News Channel, on the night of October 28, Charlie Crist told Greta Van Susteren that he contacted the White House regarding Kendrick Meek.

The transcript follows:

CRIST: Yes, I did, subsequent to...

VAN SUSTEREN: Who did you speak...

CRIST: ... conversations with those close to Mr. Clinton, President Clinton.

VAN SUSTEREN: Who did you speak to at the White House?

CRIST: I'm sorry?

VAN SUSTEREN: Who did you speak to at the White House?

CRIST: There were several people that I spoke with. Again...

VAN SUSTEREN: But "several" is a rather vague...

CRIST: ... there were several people I spoke with.

VAN SUSTEREN: Several...

CRIST: Again, I don't think it's appropriate for me to...

Hours later, Charlie Crist's spokesman told Politico something much different, saying: "The governor never asked anyone in the White House to help get Congressman Meek out of the race, and the White House never offered to help."
