Meek Campaign Congratulates Crist’s Handpicked Conservative Senator on First Year In Office
Miami Gardens - Today marks the first anniversary of Charlie Crist promoting his former campaign manager George Lemieux to the U.S. Senate. Last year, according to the Florida Voter File, there were 8,967,989 registered voters over the age of 30 - the Constitutional requirement to serve as a U.S. senator. Crist's handpicked conservative crony has since compiled a record that only a conservative could love, further illustrating the choice Floridians have in November.
"Charlie Crist could have appointed almost anyone but he decided his campaign manager was the best choice for Floridians," said Abe Dyk, Kendrick Meeek's campaign manager. "Charlie Crist's handpicked choice voted against health care reform, against reining in Wall Street, and against the unemployed. Whether it's appointing conservative George Lemieux to the U.S. Senate last year, or John Manning to the Lee County Commission this July, Charlie Crist has a record of placing his own into office and putting his own interests first."
The League of Conservation Voters rated Charlie Crist's handpicked senator's voting record at 17; the Alliance for Retired Americans rated him 14. The American Conservative Union loves his voting record, placing his 86 rating between Rep. Virginia Brown-Waite (84) and Alabama Republican Senator Richard Shelby (88).
